I stayed at Jacka's in Acland Street, and I was impressed with the unit. Absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean, I felt guilty putting my scruffy bags down on the carpet. I usually stay

at Novotel when I come down, but your property is better value and actually nicer.

We had a comfortable and great stay at StayCentral. It was our first trip to Melbourne and did not know what to expect location-wise, but we were not disappointed. We stayed at the 5/12 Acland apartment and it was central to the shops and restaurants of Acland and Fitzroy streets, as well as St. Kilda beach and the Esplanade. Short walks to all! Especially convenient to the trams as well. The unit was very clean and nice - it was also a huge plus for us that it not only had a washer/dryer, but had an A/C unit as it got humid and hot at times. We would stay here again (and we are picky people)!

In comparison with high-end impersonal hotels, I was delighted with the care shown by Chris in taking me on a neighbourhood familiarisation tour, complete with introductions to people in the village. I followed Chris' suggestions in dining at Mikoshi (met the locals), Chinta Ria and indulged in Thai massage. Everyone and each experience was great! Comfortable bed. Quiet, safe haven! It truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you.

It's central. It's an apartment. It's got all the facilities one needs - own washing, dryer, kitchen, lounge, two balconies, privacy etc. And if I wanted to step out of that comfort zone then there's the courtyard (nice design), heated pool, gym. If I wanted to move out of the security of the place ... then I've got Melbourne at my door step ... to meetings, shops, cafes, bars, beach etc. Then I can return to my own comfort zone and do my own thing. In a nutshell it's probably the closest one can get to being "home away from home".

Compare that with a hotel room which is a pokey square and one eats, sleeps, works and whatnot in the same room ...then you've got to wait your turn at the laundry, eat what the hotel has on the menu, have a quiet drink in a bar that one may not particularly like, have people running around doing things like carrying my bag or parking my car which I can easily do myself, putting out the do not disturb sign if I wanted a sleep in etc. (i.e. extra overheads added to the bill).

The main reasons we stayed with you were the location and the setup where there is a space between the sleeping areas.

Very well equipped with appliances and kitchen tools. Sheets and towels were good quality. Grateful for some consumables being left behind by past visitors. Very good position for transport and dining. Helpful information given about Melb and transport options.
